Marble Bee Urn

This neo-classical urn draws inspiration from early 19th-century French design.  Crafted from charcoal marble, it is carefully embellished with delicate brass bee motifs, a symbol closely associated with Napoleon Bonaparte and the French Empire.

Each brass bee is individually hand-set, while the marble is carefully hand-polished and softly patinated to add a rich lustre.

The makers

Sourced by PHINA

Every year, we set off in search of the unexpected: hidden gems, antiques, curious objet, original art, and furniture with a story to tell.

Our approach is slow, considered and instinctive. We source responsibly, choosing pieces for their craftsmanship, quality and ability to make you look twice. We like to meet the makers and sellers along the way, getting to know the people, provenance and stories behind our finds.

The pieces that return from our trip with us often show signs of a life well lived. It is this patina, shaped by time and use, that gives each piece its character.
